ADHD and Family

ADHD is a complex neurobiological disorder that affects children, parents and families. Effective care rarely involves only one style of intervention but instead integrates behavioral, educational, and medical supports. After reviewing research regarding the effect of ADHD on families and parents, this talk will include an overview of evidence-based ADHD care, non-medical as well as medical. It will also offer mindfulness techniques for use in daily life, a research-proven, accessible means for parents to reduce stress and make skillful choices that support their family’s well-being.
